As our programme of shows, events and community activities continues to grow, so does our need for fantastic volunteers. Whether you can spare a few hours occasionally or would like to get involved more regularly, there are lots of ways to join our friendly team, meet new people, learn new skills and help keep this much-loved community venue thriving. Live Events
Be part of the show – on stage, backstage and beyond! Our live events simply couldn’t happen without the brilliant volunteers who help bring them to life. From welcoming audiences and supporting our Front of House team, to getting hands-on with lighting, sound, technical and backstage roles, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Whether you’re an experienced theatre hand or have never stepped backstage before, we can help you learn new skills, build confidence and discover how live entertainment really works. You don’t have to be in the spotlight to play a starring role – join our team and help make the magic happen at The Commemoration Hall.
Arts Cafe
Great coffee, great conversations and a warm welcome! Our Arts Café is at the heart of The Commemoration Hall and our volunteers play a vital role in making it a friendly and welcoming place for everyone. You could be greeting guests, chatting about the work of our charity, acting as an ambassador for the Hall, supporting our café team or helping to serve food and drinks. If you’d like to get more hands-on, we can also provide training to help you learn how to make great coffee, prepare and serve food, and develop new café and hospitality skills. Whether you can give a few hours or become a regular face, it’s a fantastic way to meet people, build confidence and help support the future of our charity.
