About the event

You are welcome to join writer Helen Sheppard in a friendly and fun workshop to excite your writing with Senses and Colours.

You will receive tips and tricks for writing, surprising prompts and craft discussions.

Beginners to experienced writers are welcome.

Event will be held at the beautifully refurbished creative arts space - Commemoration Hall.

Helen Sheppard is a midwife who writes poems about birth, health, family and loss. She co-runs Satellite of Love Spoken Word events. Her first poetry collection 'Fontanelle' is published by Burning Eye Books (2021). Helen's poetry is in many anthologies including: Under the Radar, These are the Hands NHS, Hecate Magazine. Commended in Hippocrates Prize (2017). Readings include: Milk, Raise the Bar, Torriano Meeting House, Harvard Medical School, Nuyorican Poets Cafe NYC. Helen's podcast - Health Beat Poets.
